A train carrying passengers and freight arrives three times a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. During bear season it is full.
The train arrives in the early morning and stays all day before returning to the south. Thus it is possible to visit Churchill ‘for the day,’ using the train as your hotel. The train trip requires two overnights to get from Winnipeg to Churchill (eg. departing at noon on Sunday, it arrives 7:00 AM on Tuesday).
